WARNING... Our local news just reported that someone from this number was calling local citizens under the pretense of raising money for our local fire dept. The FD has alerted the community, saying that they NEVER call anyone asking for donations for the fire dept. and any such calls are fraud. If these calls to our community are fraud, I'm sure any other calls they're making are fraud as well. (Sept 3, 2013)
Recieved a call from a man identifying himself as Richard Terrell (not sure if the last name is spelled correctly )with the National Firefighters Association asking me to please think about our firefighters today and, of course, by doing so was asking for donations. I told him that this was a SCAM and that he need not call my number again and that I was going to report his name and number. He got very irate with me and told me that I must be thinking about someone else and then he hung up on me. I would love to find these people doing this and show them some Texas style vengence on Sorry, good for nothing phone SCAMMERS. The least I can and will do is track down the number, find out the carrier and report the activity that is taking place with the phone number that they are associated with and see if they will own up to it and either investigate and shut down the activity or if they will stand back and allow the activity to continue. BTW! I will post an up-date on the outcome.

The City of Cedar Park has received a report of a resident receiving a call from the phone number 281-203-0062, in which the caller claims to be collecting donations for the Cedar Park Fire Department.
The Cedar Park Fire Department, Police Department, or any other City entity will never solicit the public via telephone for donations.
The article also states that if you receive a phone call like this, you are asked to report it to the Cedar Park Police Department at 512-260-3600 or on the Report a Problem page at www.cedarparktexas.gov.
