Got this strange call about being awarded a federal grant (7500.00). Glad I didn't opt for the direct deposit option. Called the number and gave the code given. 2 or 3 rings later, the person instructed me not to call back due to "nothing here for you". They answered the phone NATIONAL GRANT FUND, Michele Parker was the name given. MAJOR SPAM JOB!!!!!!
had a phone call from a weird number picked up and they said i was selected for a grant from the US gov grant dept. they gave me the 302 231 1374 number to call back Is this a scam?
• There ain't no such thing as a free lunch.
• If it looks too good to be true, it probably is.
• You have not won big bucks from a benign benefactor, a pot of pesos from PCH, dinero from a doctor, or a grant from a gracious government <<<<<<<<<<<<<<
• The tooth fairy really does not exist
• Everything you read on the internet is not necessarily true.
• It is illegal to pay money for a loan or prize, BEFORE getting the loan or prize!
• "Free Trips" are loaded with mandatory & costly extras, and you usually must give them your card number after listening to a loooong spiel at a hotel.
• Microsoft or one of their agents did NOT cold call you to fix your computer.
• The moon is not made of green cheese.
• The IRS will snailmail you, rather than phone you, if there is a problem.
• Jackalope milk is not an aphrodisiac.
• If you "green dot" or Western Union money to a scammer, the money is gone.
• You should beware of Greeks bearing gifts, specially if the gift is a wooden horse.
Cold call from the United States Postal Service Supervisor Dora Davis 302 321 1374 claiming to be my last contact for delivery of a government grant in the amount of $9400. and all I had to do was buy form a local store a green dot money card and load the card for $350. call her with the info and my check would be delivered to my home address, my reply was good luck and I was going to the PC and enter the phone # she replied that's fine and wala!
