"giving away" a vacation. When I asked to please be removed he told me "shut up you stupid [***]" I tried to call back and the number was changed or disconnected.
This caller was a scammer, and in the future, do not be polite. Best thing to do is to say nothing, then hang up on them, and then block their number from calling, or let the call go to an answering machine or voice mail. The less information they can glean from you, the better for you. The worst of these will call again in the future.
This applies to ALL unexpected telemarketing calls, survey calls, political calls, and charity calls. "Evasive manuevers" !!
Call for this number this morning. Has and extra 1 at the beginning in callerID. Asked for my Fiancé's ex husband. Said no who is this. He repeat he was Steve from some International something. Told him this number was on the do not call list. He told me very rudely that "It doesn't freaking matter". I told him he's so worthless he had to get a telemarketer job because even Walmart would hire him. And I hung up. :-)
They called saying they are from RCI, and that I had signed up for these calls. I told them I had asked 5 different people to take me off their list. "Well, we have never called you before". Okay, well I didn't sign up for these "well you are a member with.." No I am not! My parents are but I am not "you have traveled with the company before" but that doesn't make me a member!! His reply: "whatever" and hung up on me.
