They randomly called me one day and kept calling daily. After the 5th or so call, I called them back to see who it was and what they wanted. When they answered he said he was with Navient and I owed a balance of $20,000, would I like to pay on that now? For one, none of "my" information he was saying they had on file was incorrect and unheard of by me, they asked for me social, on the NSLDS website I have 0 student loans or debt. The man tried to argue with me because I wasn't giving him my debit card number. Since then they call EVERY SINGLE DAY & send emails every single day saying the exact same thing. I have blocked just about ever number they call from yet I still keep getting calls!!
You will most likely have to write them a C&D and send certified return receipt USPS mail.

*Keep a notebook handy for writing time, date, who you spoke with and what the conversation detailed.
*Check your SOL for your state as well.
*Attorneys need to be licensed as a DC to collect, all DC's must be licensed in their state as well as yours if different.

First they sent 5 text messages to my cell, one right after another. Then called 11:39 am PDT, caller ID showed "Name Unknown". Message was for Roxanne claiming her loan was in default. I have had this number for 6 years and used to get messages for Roxanne when I first got the phone. My husband answered the phone saying no such person here.
