A lady called from this phone number for 4 days in a row - never left a message. When I finally answered the call she said she was from Discover saying that I had applied for a credit card and she needed to verify information. I had NOT applied for any card. I said I didn't want to verify any information because I didn't want a card so if they had an application they needed to discard it because someone falsly applied. She was VERY persistant in trying to get information. I hungup on her, and called a 1-800 that I have for Discover, and they said that they have no record of me applying for any cards and not to give any information to anyone from a number for them that doesn't begin with 800, 877 or 866, and that if they can't give a call back number or guarantee that they can send a letter to me, then they're fake.
I received a call which they told me was about a discover application they had received from me online. I have no recollection of having applied online for any discover card. When she started asking me questions about my e-mail address, home address, etc. I hung up............
This is a call from Discover credit card services. They are calling to verify that it is actually YOU that applied forone of their credit cards. Totally legit. (they called me the day after I applied)
