I 'am on the do not call list, the person on the other end offered me a 100 dollar gift-card.The person beat around the bush on how they got my #, he said off a web site I had visited; which is false I would never give my personal # on a site. This is clearly a scam.
The call came thru caller id saying hockessin, de. I thought it was for a job that I applied to so I answer her a guy saying something then the phone disconnects, so I called the number back a lady with a foreign accent answers saying HELLO, who is this i ask she said we called you because we have a $100 walmart certificate for you she was really talking very fast and she got irritated when i ask her to slow down, so i ask her the name of the company and she said its united benefits all i need is your name and address and i will send you the card "OK" I SAID NO THANK YOU AND HUNG UP
Ugh.. I hate that now these scammers pay people to use their cell phones to call me with threats to serve me check fraud papers. Now the Do Not Call Registry is useless because they call on a local number and then give you a 1-888 number to call back on. This time they said they were with American Financial and wanted my phone number and I said I don't think your legit and he hung up.
