I received a call 2 days ago and they told me I owned money to a company. I tried to ask for more information but they would not tell me anything and the man i was talking to was very rude. he had told me that i had 20 minutes to pay for it or he would send me to court. I found this very odd and they had all of my information. My name, my address, and even my social security number. I believe it was a scam because i called the company that i supposedly owed money to and they said that I did not owe that money.
Received a generic recorded call from this number, instructing me to contact an 888 number regarding a complaint filed against my social security number. Received call this morning from a company called process mediation for David Jenkins law firm. At first it was a recorded message leaving a case number saying if I did not respond a claim would be filed against me in court. I called back to find out what this was all about. I got a woman on the line saying the conversation was being recorded, the background sounded like a call center. She said they were attempting to collect a debt from a credit company I have never heard of and to my knowledge never done business with. They said I had a good standing with this company between 2004 and 2007 before I let it go delinquent with a balance of some $3000 dollars! I have never let anything go delinquent, ever. However it frightens me that they had my name, birthdate, and social security number. When I tried to press for more information the lady on the phone became agitated and said all she needs to know is if I want to handle this in or out of court. I finally said I would need to call my lawyer, she then said so your going to go to court, good luck and hung up the phone. Needless to say this as left me a bit concerned that I may be involved in a scam and they have my personnel information.

Personal information is surprisingly easy to find ... try googling your name, or entering your phone number in google or bing. Also, if you visit any of the "social sites", be aware that there are ways to get your info.
