Caller asked for my husband by name. Asked who he was. Said from Delaware Fraternal Order of Police and started asking for donation. Told them don't do anything by phone send me in mail. Still wanted pledge on phone. I told him no that info had to be sent by mail and then will decide. He then ended the conversation so probably a scam.
Received a call. Didn't answer but I called them back and got a recording with no reference as to who they are just that no one could take my call and gave me the hours of their business and then also gave me the option to be put on their do not call list. I hung up and blocked their number. If it was a legitimate business they would have said their company name and also they would not give you an option to be put on their do not call list since I am already on the NDC list.

When it is a donation group....ALWAYS as the question how much of the donation goes to the charity,, Normally they will say something like at least or a minimum of 20%.. That is $2 out of a $10 donation or $20 out of $100... Then you respond it is tooooo low a percentage (if you feel it is) and done... Then decide to block the call or not....
Who says they won't lie about the percentage? How do you know who you are really talking to? Just NEVER give out personal or CC info on the phone.... or, better, just NEVER respond to cold-calls on the phone, period!
