When I answered a recorded woman's voice told me that I had an opportunity to lower the interest rates on my current credit card (didn't mention a company name) but that the offer would expire soon and that I should press "9" to lower my rates now. I pressed "9" to tell them that I wanted to be taken off their list. A man answered and asked what was holding me back from lowering my rates. I asked what credit card he was referring to and he responded "Your current Visa and Mastercards." I asked what company he was calling from and he said something I couldn't hear and when I asked him to repeat the name he hung up. Very clearly a scam.
They just did the exact same thing to me - card holder services - we are calling regarding your master card or visa - i asked which one - he said do any of them have a rate over 13% - i said no - he hung up. Ohh I will answer next time, and I will drag that call on and on and on - I'm going to screw with their call through ratio - yeah i have no time on my hands being unemployed and all
Same thing happened to me. This is a nationwide scam similar to "Heather from Account Services." I made a complaint to my state Attorney General's office. I also suggest alerting your local newspapers and the FCC.
If you press 9, you will probably get "Steve." Ask him how he sleeps at night. Tell him you plan to press charges against him. But first, keep him on the phone as long as you can by providing false information.
Same recording this morning at 11:05am EST. I did not press a key to be connected to a live agent but I did wait to hear for directions on how to opt out and did not get any...I thought that was an FCC regulation...
