They called me saying i owe 6000 dollars and that i even had to go to court today but that i did not go. They said that a letter wouls be sent out of the information this week, so we shall see what it is about. They threatened about paying the money claiming i ordered cosmetics which i did not. Also, they said that it had been since 2012 and that is why i owed that amount. so stupid. Good thing I did not give out any information. I called the number and it was disconnected. none answered. Will try again to see what is up
I received a call from 305-203-0680 on 12/05/2015 They are acussing me about a medicine shipment I did not order or have not received. They threaten to me to take me to "small claims" if I do not pay a balance of $400. I have been worried about this situation and decided to do a search. I suspected this to be a scam. I nw see that I'm not the only one they are targeting.
This seems like a MO of these criminals, claiming that some product was sent and trying to scare you into paying their extortion money. Read the following carefully and use the information to your advantage:
This is a common ploy by criminals masquerading as debt collectors who are attempting to extort money from people by scaring you into believing that you will be criminally charged, go to jail, lose your driver’s license, have wages garnished, be sued, and a variety of other variations on this, all for an alleged or nonexistent debt. One of the tricks they use is to call your work place, friends, or relatives repeatedly in an attempt to shame you into paying. They also use the “process server” ruse who calls and claims he is going to serve you, but then says you could avoid it by calling another number
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
