i got a call from this person saying: a family of mine was in an accident and the family member dialed my phone number on his phone and they cant talk because his face was injured in the car accident. he asked if i had a brother or spouse that drives. i asked for his name and he asked for my name. then he hung up. this is a scam hes number has been reported multiple times.
Said my son or brother got into a car accident and that he is at his house with a banged up face. I asked for the name of the person in the accident and he said he doesn't know, he can't talk. I also asked what car this person was driving and he claimed not to have seen the car.
They called my mom saying a family member got in a sever car accident, saying some elaborate story how they're also wanted by the police, and will kill said family member unless given $3000.
The character is full of hot air. It's a dirty way of trying to extort money from your mom. Perhaps calling the police isn't a bad move, however, if she's able to either block, or completely ignore unknown numbers, callers like these cannot be heard from. Unfortunately, it's a risk you take answering mystery calls. Expect to hear anything, including this.
