I received a text message this morning from this number saying to please call because a family member of mine had been in an accident and needed my help. I called them and they asked for my name and if I had a family member in Florida, I told them I did, then they asked for the name of the family member. I gave them a fake name, then they told me that that was the person that was there. I told them that the call was a scam and that I was going to the Police (which I did). The person at the other end told me that my cell number had been traced, that they knew where I was and that they were going to kill me and my entire family.
This is a scammer. My wife got a text and I got a call. They must have gotten hold of a list of local Miami numbers. Just hang up or ignore them. I hope the caller gets cancer and dies a painful death. I am performing a Santeria ceremony to ensure this happens.
Same story as above, I received a text message in spanish. I did not reply, but blocked the caller on my phone.
Wonder where they want to get with this stupid scam.
