This number is representing itself as FPL (Florida Power and Light) collection department. FPL has issued alerts warning its customers against these types of calls. When I asked the rep to confirm the address he was calling me for as delinquent, he was unable to provide. Then I asked if he was one of those people that FPL has warned us about and guess what he HUNG UP!!! So beware. The number they are using is out of Homestead. The complete number is 305-224-0917, ext. 101.
this is the second time these parasites tried to scam me. beware!!! they also told me I had 60 minutes before they would disconnect my electricity. said I should go to CVS and purchased a gift card of some sort
This is a magicJack number. Do you think Florida Power & Light would be calling people from an essentially untraceable number from a device that plugs into the Internet anywhere in the world to make free calls into and out of the US to warn them that their power is going to be shut off unless you purchase a CVS gift card to pay them in 30 minutes?
I didn't think so.
By the way, I called the number from a safe phone this weekend and someone answered in a loud, raised voice, "Allllooooooo ..." and said nothing more. Not sounding like a real FP&L agent to me...
