OK, I just found this forum and I, too, received the exact same text message, then emailed him telling him he was welcome to come look at the vehicle and make an offer. Then I got the same email back from him, identical except for numbers. What if you (me) are the idiot who, even though you thought it sounded fishy, gave your name, address and phone number? That information is very easily found out via Google, county property records online, etc. So what could the creep do with that information? No account numbers, etc. were given. Any ideas? I reported him to AutoTrader, but not sure if I need to do anything further. Feedback (and the deserved "I told you so's") welcomed.
I was hit with the same Scam. Only Difference is that he has changed his name to Dennis Clark..
