I get calls from various "health" companies using several different numbers, including this one, on a daily basis. The common denominator is that every one of them claim I am a customer/client of Tri-Care. I tell them I have never heard of Tri-Care and to remove my number from their database and cease calling. Makes no difference - the calls continue. Sometimes several times per day. One caller claimed it was a "pain research" company - another a diabetic product supplier - neither apply to me. Every one of them mentions an affiliation with Tri-Care. The company needs to be investigated for telephone spam and possible scamming.
Carmen, Did you actually talk to someone at that number then? They said they were calling about military benefits? I wonder why they continue to call and leave no message? I blocked my number and called them back today just to see who it was and it went straight to a recorded hold and transfer message without identifying who was at that number. Weird.
It's a boiler room call from a "pharmacy" advising of "new Tricare Pharmacy Benefits you have now qualified for including pain medications and creams, and vitamin supplements." I kept heavily accented "John" on the phone for awhile. I was very careful not to give him simple Yes or No answers just in case the call was being recorded and later edited making me sound like I had accepted anything.
He asked if I was the sponsor. I lied and said yes. Asked if I took vitamins, I answered in the negative. Asked if I had allergies to medicines and I replied I had too numerous to go list at the moment. My answers kept throwing him off script. He again mentioned all the wonderful benefits I now qualified for and was at a loss for words when I told him Tricare already pays for all of my prescription and supplemental needs.
He responded, "Ok, ma'am. Never mind," and let out a big sigh as I laughed and hung up on him.
The last time we had a scam call from these guys, they spoofed Tricare's telephone number on the Caller ID.
