Todo lo que dice el señor Eduardo de la Torre es cierto. Todo lo que explica aquí esta pasando conmigo, yo recibí las llamadas en Noviembre, después de haber hecho la compra en Julio la cual pague $100, pero como no recibí todo el paquete como se concreto el día de la compra por no haber estado en el país; en Noviembre me llamaron diciendo que tenia una demanda por no haber recibido el producto completo y no haber pagado todo. Me sorprendió y lo vi ridículo, pero acepte y pague el resto del monto que faltaba mas $360 por gastos administrativos, así es, como lo leen...... Desafortunadamente pague y caí en el juego de estos estafadores. Ahora esta semana empece a recibir llamadas de un tal Antonio Gonzalez (347) 853-7215. Diciéndome que tenia una demanda por lo mismo, y cuando les digo que tengo todos los papeles con los pagos hechos, todas las pruebas y que tengo mi abogado para reclamar, les pido los números de la compañía (Angeluz Fl Corp); ahora me dan los números que empiezan con (310) 984-5084 o (310) 973-1821; y ya no con (305) 290-7936 como era antes. Esos números están fuera de servicio y son números de celulares o magic jack; al igual que el numero de Antonio Gonzalez, porque es el único que contesta el teléfono. Es todo un fraude.....
A Miami federal jury has convicted a Peruvian man of running a shakedown scam by threatening Spanish-speaking victims from call centers in his native country.
Juan Rodriguez Cuya, 35, was convicted Friday of 26 counts of fraud and other charges after less than two hours of deliberations following a two-week trial before U.S. District Judge Patricia A. Seitz in Miami.
His mother, co-defendant Maria Luzula, 52, of Miami pleaded guilty to all of the charges against her midway through the trial.
Each faces a statutory maximum of 20 years in prison on each count. Both defendants are in custody pending their sentencing.
"The defendants targeted and preyed upon the Spanish-speaking community—and the evidence of the harm that their fraud caused on individual victims is heart-wrenching," said acting Assistant Attorney General Joyce R. Branda of the Justice Department's civil division.
Prosecutors said the pair had workers in Peru used web-based telephone calls to threaten Spanish-speaking victims in the United States.
The Peruvian callers falsely accused the victims of refusing the delivery of products, claimed they owed thousands of dollars in fines and warned they would be sued if they didn't pay a "settlement fee," which were collected by a Miami office. Thousands of victims paid even though they had never ordered the products and nothing was delivered.
