The call on the caller ID showed up as OUT OF AREA 801012. When I answered the man had a very thick Indian accent and could not or would not give me any information as to why he was calling. He asked for my husband and nothing more when I asked questions. The day prior he did leave a message and it said that my husband or his attorney had until the following day to call them back at 305-328-6855. Seems like another phone scam to me especially since a real phone number didn't show up on the caller ID and the call back number is in FL.

After blocking the 801012 number we then had calls from 801015, 801016 & 801017. We ended up calling them back a few times to ask questions about why they were calling, what company were they calling on behalf of, etc. Almost every question was responded to with a prompt disconnect. The one time I actually did get a little more info and when he said he would let me speak to the person in charge of the case you heard him lay the phone down and a few seconds later he returned and said that the person was in a meeting.
The jist of this scam is like the ones who were calling about a month or so ago...you owe $5000 to an online cash advance company and you need to pay it because there is a judgement against you. Scary thing is that this time they are even contacting other family members trying to get in touch with you. They called my mother.
Called my state Attorney General's office and they said that sadly there is nothing they can do because most of the time they are calling from foreign countries and that the callback number is what they call a disposable number...it may work this week but may be disconnected the next. Their advice was to answer and tell them that you know it is a scam, hang up and if possible block the number.
I got the same call....I couldnt understand them..they transfered me to 3 or 4 different people....mine came up 801014..and then blocked... they keep insisting I owe them 1650 dollars....but said that they are taking me to court and I will pay 11K...but if I pay right now its only 760... They also kept emphasizing that they are going to have a warrant issued for my arrest for fraud. All the information they have for me is jumbled... they said I took out a loan in Sept 2007... but gave me an address I didnt have until June 2008..and they called me on my cell..which I didnt have until May 2008....and they provided me with an employers name I havent worked with for years. I asked for supporting documentation and they wont give me any and keep telling me that they are going to issue a warrant for my arrest which they have no juristiction for.. I checked with the police. I dont know who these people are. If anyone figures it out please post.
I have had 4 from this number 305-328-6855 it shows up on my phone as 801010 He has a very thick Indain accent and says he is with American Law Division and that they hadn.t heard from my states attorney. That I need to return the call or get my lawyer to get a hold of them that it is very time sensetive and if I don't get back with them they fell sorry for what will happen. The only way I recieved the real number is from the message they finaly left also I have learned that the 801010 number is a text message or Gmail I have never Gmailed any thing or any one I won't I also now know this number is from Florida
I received this same call with a 6 digit incoming calling code. The caller had a very thick Indian accent & called my place of employment SIX times in a row and sometimes both lines would ring at the same time with the same 6 digit code. The only way I received #305-328-6855 is because the operator @ my job asked for a call back # to page me with. They also left a very threatening & personal message with the operator stating they were from the Law & Investigation Dept of ??! I had a call similar to this one in 2008 and they would constantly call claiming to be an officer and demanded thousands of dollars within a very limited amount of time. These people catch you off guard and use every scare tactic possible. I finally told them I had a lawyer and gave them his # and they left me alone. My lawyer also contacted them and threatened charges against the person/company calling me and harrassing me everyday non stop! I havent heard from them since until now. However, it is a diff # that they are calling from.
