I HAVE BEEN RECEIVING CALLS FROM THIS NUMBER AND HAVE ASKED THEM NOT TO CALL AGAIN AS IAM ON THE NATIONAL DO NOT CALL LIST BUT WHAT GOOD IS IT THEY STILL CALL ANYWAY
The DNC list does not automatically block calls. Instead, it provides a list of "do not call" phone numbers to legitimate telemarketers who pay a fee for the list.
The DNC list exempts political callers, survey organizations, charities and companies with preexisting business relationships, but these organizations might have their own, internal Do Not Call list (ask them).
The DNC list is not effective against criminals, spammers and scammers, because those people do not subscribe to the DNC list, and do not care if you are on or off that list.
Its purpose is to stop calls from legitimate telemarketers, and it does a pretty good job at that.

Besides saying that they work for both Visa and Master card and will lower my interest rate they also had outdated information of address and credit card debt. I asked them who they were talking to and what credit cards did I have and that was way out of date by 10 years. Once I told him that I didn't have any credit card debt the line went dead.
These ppl as well as tothers like them that do not feel it is necessary to follow the laws for people's privacy. You can file a complaint with the BBB and the FTC they can and will make the calls stop. I spoke to my local States Attorney and the took my complaint but also encouraged me to contact both institutions because they are following these scammers and several others. They have shut out some (which explains why I thought I didn't pay my phone bill... No calls for a few days!) All I can say is anytime an unsolicited call comes in take down as much info as possible and the go straight to the BBB and FTC. It couldn't make things worse.
