The callers are the drug-addicted "card services" scammers, who call us, pretending to be associated with our credit card companies, in an attempt to fool us into giving them our credit card numbers, so they can rip us off. People that have given their card number to these junkies have suffered severe financial losses. Beware of these lowlifes, and warn others, before they are cheated!
The do not call registry is not obeyed by outright criminals, such as the card service scammers. People that are still not aware of their criminal status, are the ones most likely to be cheated by them.
This caller has been busy in the past couple of days! Apparently, this number hasn't appeared in internet comments until around March 23, 24, even though some folks report being called by them a lot in the past.
They've called here once today. We're in the southeast. The CallerID says "Cell phone FL."
I picked-up the receiver, I said nothing, and they hung-up - like a robo-dialer call.
...looks like it's a new number for credit card scamming, based on the other comments here.
Had a house number transferred to a mobile phone. First call we got was from this number. And I asked the foreign sounding caller how hey got this number because it was on the DO NOT CALL list & hung up. Sounds like they have busy all over the country in a couple of days.
recording asked to push 9 to speak to an operator. I pushed 9 with the intention of asking to be placed on the do not call list. My request was met with the question, " how old are you?" I hesitated, repeatedly asked to be off the list and after about the seventh question of my age I answered "29" The reply was, " I'm going to fu*k you" It was said numerous times he told me he knew where I lived, that I sounded sexy, that calls were not recorded, that he would call me later, and of course over and over again that he was going to fu*k me.
NEVER IN MY LIFE has a telemarketer harassed me in this way. It was appalling and downright disgusting.
Megan-- yourself, and others, need to realize, when receiving a call from the "card services'' scammers, we are NOT getting a call from telemarketers, but from a group of drug addicts, hired off the street. They are recruited at Narcotics Anonymous meeting in South Florida to earn a commission, cheating decent folks, in order to support their disgusting habits. The best thing to do is to not answer calls from numbers you are not familiar with, and to also pass on the word about these lowlifes to others, before they are verbally abused or cheated. They are currently using 305,and 360 area codes, among others, so be careful in answering these calls especially.
