Name on called I.D. was Maria Cortez. I do not know anyone with that name. How can we stop these unknown individuals from calling us? The Do Not Call List obviously does not work.

I was under the impression that the DNC list was a gigantic mega computer and army of FTC professionals that monitored each and every one of the over 1 billion 500 million telephone calls placed in the world each day. And that it had the capability to screen each and every individual call and determine whether that person receiving the call chose to accept or decline it. This computer has the capability to Block any caller for any reason, instantly upon being reported. Also, I was told by many that a Telemarketer was any person who places a phone call that was unwanted....regardless of the purpose of the call. I have learned to never attempt to explain what a Telemarketer actually is, or what the DNC actually is and does, for fear of confusing others who have never gone to the FTC site and read the facts. I have learned from reading this board for a couple of years now, that the DNC List has been responsible for everything from Biblical Plagues and the great flood, to the ever rising cases of Herpes. So, be Careful treading on the DNC subject. We have our minds made up so don't confuse us with Facts!
Excellent! Soon I expect them to add the "Instant Vaporize" function to the Do Not Call list so that any unwanted caller who dials my number spontaneously combusts! I can hardly wait!
