I just got the same call. They gave me my sons bank acct number social security number. Said he took out a 1500 payday loan and unless i paid right now he would go to jail.
I called the bank they put a hold on his acct and told me to call the police and make a report then go to the bank in the morning and close the acct and open a new one.
Some guy called up threatening about some old loan that I never heard of that I owe on and legal action. Was such a strong accent it was hard to understand.
I got a call from this Indian man about a loan and his accent was so strong that understanding what he was saying was very difficult. I proceed to ask for the website I applied for the loan and they would not give me that information. Then he gave me an address that I have never lived before.
A so called Mr Perez called my job stating that i owe some online payday company some money that i never heard of before. They also stated that the have issued a warrant for my arrest and they police is coming to my job. Before i could say anything else. they hung up. I am so mad because they continue to call my job and harrass me and when i called the number back, it speaks of the number being a Magic Jack phone number. Will contact my Attorney General.
I just recieved a phone call from "the law firm" stating that I owed money on an old online loan and that they were representing a company called cashworld. They stated that they were pressing criminal charges for not paying the loan back and that they would be dispatching the police to arrest me. I have never taken out an online loan so I had to laugh...
I just received a call. Same heavy accent. Stated was a law firm representing the party having a lawsuit against me and he asked me if i had a lawyer. I stated i have no lawsuit against me. He said, "oh my, then you have not yet been served." You need a lawyer. I asked why i would need a lawyer and he said because of the criminal charges against me. I stated i have no criminal charges against me and he asked, " how do you know?" I stated that i have not been involved in any criminal activity and have never been arrested. At that point he tried to respond but i hung up. He called back immediately, stated someone would be at my door tomorrow, and hung up.
