Well, I can see why you took a job as a crook. Yes, it is against the law to say they will file a "criminal suit" against you, because there is no such thing. Not paying a bill or a loan is not a criminal matter, I think that a lot of debt collectors such as Portfolio and several others would be extremely surprised at hearing that they can't file a lawsuit against a debtor, considering the fact that they have won a few of them. I would think the courts would have taken notice to that.
i got call from this number saying they are looking for me but when i say it is not me a man answered the phone asking if my name was this and if I was born on a certain day. I kept asking who is calling and they would not tell me and I told them i will not answer any of your questions until you tell me who you are then he hung up on my face. I think it is a scammer./
Yup. It's a scammer. You are right in not giving anyone any info over the phone, especially the way that dipstick acted. If they will not identify themselves properly, it's a sure sign this is s crook.
It has recording saying if you this person press one, if not this person press two, so I press two then they say call a phone# that they left. this is everyday, how are these people getting numbers to harass other people. it needs to stop.
I took the call and they gave me a number to call and it was Receivable Management Services, a collection agency who Ace Check Cashing uses to collect a debt. Receivable Management Services said that they were going to file a criminal lawsuit for fraud. ACE check cashing say that they don't file lawsuits. Collection agency are not to threaten you with lawsuit.
