My son received two phone calls from this number. The first caller, a man, claimed to be with Verizon Wireless. He wanted to know if my son was the account owner. When he answered that he didn't know, the man asked, 'What do you mean you don't know?" My son brought me the phone at that point.
I ended the call, but the phone rang again almost immediately. This time it was a woman on the phone. I told her that I didn't believe they were who they claimed to be and asked them to please stop calling my son at which point the call ended.
I have since verified with Verizon that this phone number is not a valid Verizon number. I can only conclude that the persons using this number are trying to promulgate a scam.
Beware if you receive a phone call from anyone claiming to be with Verizon if the number is not an 800 number as Verizon only uses one of two 800 numbers to contact their customers.
