This call came in while we were on an extremely important personal business call tonight.
Since we were recently in Miami, I'm wondering WHOM has our home phone number and is using it now.
Reports online say this is a CELL PHONE. I STRONGLY suspect it belongs to one of the SAFELITE MIAMI SOB's WHO TRIED TO RIP US OFF.
We had a windshield replaced while IN Miami by a VERY FRAUDULENT "SAFELITE" franchisee who tried to SWINDLE us out of first nearly $500 and then later OVER $300.
After we refused to sign their contract saying we'd pay them out of pocket (ON TOP OF our FULL Glass Coverage Insurance Claim) the tech THEN proceeded to RIP OFF the RUBBER TRIM around our broken windshield - making it un-drivable as there was nothing holding the glass in by that point - AND THEN presented us with a NEW contract claiming we owed them OVER $300 CASH or TRAVELERS' CHECKS ONLY (Funny how they would accept credit cards!) before they would COMPLETE what they had already started. They 'had us over a barrel'. We kept calling our insurance company which had to intervene multiple times, but the SAFELITE tech and his 'manager' in the office were still jerking us around - until I SCREAMED at him: "If I can afford a trip to FLORIDA [from the Northeast] do you think I'm STUPID???" The manager then claimed it was because he 'needed to update his computer!" These two - who were talking SPANISH to each other on the phone so we couldn't understand them - and were in CAHOOTS on this, I'm SURE, finally gave up and agreed to finish replacing the windshield, but not before STALLING for 30 minutes in hopes it would start raining (it was threatening rain) and then he'd be 'off the hook' and could LEAVE and we'd be left with an UNDRIVEABLE CAR. But, we INSISTED and threatened LAWSUIT, so he reluctantly finished and left.
Funny, he DIDN'T give us an EVALUATION/CUSTOMER SATISFACTION form, they way they USUALLY Do. I guess they don't want to KNOW what we think. So WHY do you suppose they were CALLING TONIGHT (if it was them)?
