i got a call from this number looking for my son in law. of which they have called numerous times and i have explained that that is my son in law, no way to contact him. they proceed to tell me that it is a check fraud case and they need to speak with him. i have asked them repeatedly to remove my number. today the lady told me that she will not remove my number and that i will repeatedly be recieving phone calls from them. i told them repeatedly that he doesn't live at this number and i want my number removed. they got rude with me and said that they will not take the number off and if i want it off, then i need to get ahold of my son in law and have him call and have the number taken off. i asked to speak with her supervisor and she refused. she then hung up on me and i called the number back and asked to speak with a supervisor. the lady that answered the phone said that she was a supervisor and that she refused to take my number off. she told me that the conversation was being recorded and that i would continue to receive phone calls from them. i threatened that i would get ahold of my lawyer that this was harrassment and that was against the law if they continued to call my house after i told them that he doesn't live here and i have had this number for 5 years.
what can i do to make them understand not to call this number again?
I also keep getting phone calls from these people and when I asked what it was in reference to the lady got nasty and said it was from an old check and it was for check fraud also. I explained to her that when you pay on something that isnt check fraud especially since the government is going hard on those check cashing places anyway. Does anyone have an address for them so that we can give it to the ftc.gov. Thats the website for harrassment calls from bill collectors.
