Received call on 2/21/14 from this number. Caller represented herself as being from New Yorker Magazine, indicated that my subscription account had been incorrectly placed on hold because it had been recorded as a new subscription rather than a renewal. Caller then offered to renew the subscription by credit card, reducing the charge from $89.99 to $59.99. When I repeatedly refused to give a credit card number (and even asked them to send me a bill in the mail), caller stated, "Well then, we'll just cancel the account," and hung up. Subsequent call to Conde Nast confirmed that my account was in paid-up status and no interruption of my subscription -- gave them this phone number for their records.
