I just got a call from Catherine Strein (South Florida Group) as well and she said I owed $1400 to Check-N-Go / Ace. She said if I didn't pay by 2:30pm that they would be faxing over paperwork to my county office which would then put a warrant out for my arrest and I would have to pay three times the amount I owed. I called my local county office and they said they can't do that. DO NOT give them any money. If they were actually a real firm, she wouldn't hesitate to give out her information. Looks like she tells everyone different things. She also called my work today and was very rude.
It helps to call the actual company that they say you owe. I called them and they have no record that I owe them anything. Made me feel at ease knowing that.

Recieved a call from Tracey Nichols. She said that sht works for the Law ofc of Harwell and Associates. She called at 2:00 pm and said that I had until 4:30 to pay $1332 by debit card or credit card or else she would turn me in for check fraud. The account was from ACE Payday Loans for $150.00 over 4 years ago. I paid the account off in 2008. They claimed I bounced a check and tried to reach me by certified mail. I asked for her phone number she acted like did not want to give it to me. Also, when I googled the phone number and name of the Law office nothing comes up.
I also got a call from these idiots as well. They claim that I have a Payday loan out with Ace Cash Express in 2007 and will settle for $3000. Well I called ACE Cash Express just as the police officer that I filed the complaint with told me to do and they checked all their records and have no record of me taking out a loan with them and advised me not to give this company any money as they are scammers. I also called the Department of consumer Protection and they looked up the said lawfirm and the phone number and nothing comes up as them being a business.
As for Jennifer saying that her brother went to jail over this and the phone number was from the "law office of heather harwell" google the name and call Ms.Heather Harwell herself she is not part of this scam and the phone numbers do not even match.
Also they can not just come and take you to jail. That is not how the justice system works.This is coming from the local DA's office and the police department. Do not give any company money that demands it be paid by check or credit card unless you know that it is a legit company.
He did go to jail for a worthless check the cop said that the prosecutors office issued the warrant check your state laws.. Heather do you have money to help us try and get him out he is looking at prison time and that is how it works when you have bad checks!!!
