I got the same message. Had seen it before. I had clicked on a link in a legitimate website, not on an advertising link. Anyway, fortunately, it was not harmful. I used Crt-Alt-Del to get the Task Manager to pup up and then I closed my browser. Because this was a unexpected termination of Google Chrome, it asked my upon restarting whether I wanted to re-open my browser windows which I did, without see the annoying message again. Best wishes to everyone. Be careful. Many useful or interesting websites have been hijacked with viruses.
It popped up on my computer. "Microsoft Official Support - Google Chrome". https://s3.amazonaws.com/vv-jj-28/dsref/ts-ch ... =1-305-985-6353. s3.amazonaws.com says:. **YOUR COMPUTER HAS BEEN BLOCKED**. Error # 268D3. Please call us immediately at 1-305-985-6352. Do not ignore this critical alert. If you close this page, your computer will be disabled to prevent further damage to our network. Etc...
Is there a way to keep it from popping up on my computer? I have all pop ups blocked, I have a firewall and anti virus software. They are quite annoying. Is there a way to get the pop up to stop?
When this bogus message appears, just kill your browser (via Task List) and relaunch; never run a scan from an unknown source. Scam popup will appear when visiting affected websites, like FreakLore.com. Originating domain is s3.amazonaws.com. So far, message is the same with fictitious "Error # 268D3" and "toll free" phone number which will vary: 1-305-985-6352, 1-803-567-3069, etc. Don't bother to call; just use that number when filing out junk mail requests and the like.
