I suspect this number and many others are actually owned by junk debt collectors and these calls are being made to ascertain if 1). It is a live number, and 2.) try to find out if it belongs to a person they are trying to find in order to collect a debt. I think the correct name for these people are skip tracers. I get thses calls because my cell used to belong to another and it appears they owed many.. They use illegal tactics so I think the best way to fight is to NOT ANSWER ANY NUMBER YOU DON"T KNOW. Tell everyone why you don't answer and they will understand if clling from a new number. Please share any info you have on a cheap call blocker for repeat callers!
Called around 5:50pm 9/19/2016. When I answered, the call hung up. Called the number back and they give you the option to remove yourself from their list. We'll see if that works.
