I've gotten numerous suspicious calls recently. Thinking it may have something to do with the letter I received from Adobe about my "order information" being compromised (stolen). Including credit card type, number, dates, address, etc. The thieves also 'got ahold of' the software used to encrypt they information on the servers - ooops.
Well, I've gotten calls to my number (DID) and to our general office number asking for me and not giving any reason why and not willing to give any 'what's this about' type information to the person answering the call. I've reported all calls to police "just in case". This is one of those numbers. Just a call and no voicemail.
The clincher for me is that I go by my middle name (so anyone calling me for real business purposes-it was a business order that was breached) would go by that name. That is NOT the name on the credit card. So when someone asks for that name, I'm quite certain it's 'robo-caller' from some list sold by a storefront (or in this case might be by someone using stolen information). Needless to say, that credit card number was cancelled about 10 minutes after reading the letter from Adobe, but these calls coming from all corners of the US (major cities only...hmmm) all started at the same time and were never an issue in the previous two years I've been here.
I just got a phone call and I am in Canada. They are looking for a DR. ..... The person is calling for Travis Voss. I am getting alot of these calls lately.
Within three minutes, four people with accents phoned from this number and three others on behalf of Diana Novik (spelling?) from Sunday Sky. This "company" has been a chronic pest for the two years that I've been here. They all read from the same script: They don't know the purpose of the call; their intended target will find out when connected with Diana. I advised each caller, with increasing irritation, that we don't transfer calls without be told the reason. Also that we're tired of this game and to remove our number from their contact list. I've said this time and again, but nobody listens; they just apologize and hang up. The other numbers were 713-936-2725, 702-605-8620, and 312-614-1338.
