This scam debt collector trying to intimidate the (unfortunate) person who is receiving the call.

The robocall reads the following script:

I received a FAX order regarding a complaint that was filed against you. I have the retain to serve you with documents to appear either at your residence or place of employment. If you have any questions or concerns about the complain or wish to rectify the matter you will need to call <disposable number here>. When calling, please reference file number <insert bogus complaint number here>. You have been officially notified.

The scammer have a huge number pool to use for placing the calls. The robocall will read the number from the exact number which is generating the call, but this time with a computer generated voice, instead of the pre-recorded BS from the so-called "complaint filled against you".

Same scam technique as seen under the following other numbers:

These people have my social security number, my home , cell and parents number. They leave messages at each of the numbers repeating my social for all to hear. Each time I block the number, they call from a different one. MANY THANKS for the heads up!!

This is a common ploy by criminals attempting to extort money from people by scaring you into believing that you will be criminally charged, go to jail, lose your driver’s license, have wages garnished, be sued, and a variety of other variations on this,  all for an alleged or nonexistent debt.  They also use the “process server” who calls and claims he is going to serve you, but then says you could avoid it by calling another number.  Now why would a “process server” want to do you, a stranger, a favor, and at the same time not get paid to deliver the papers?

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
Read up on your rights here, get template letters to send and also make a complaint at this government site:  http://www.consumerfinance.gov/
Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

The message is always the same.  They have received a fax order to serve documents at my home or work.  There is never a company name or address, only a different reference or file  number with each call, and demands that I resolve the matter in a couple of days or "good luck" in court. This is concerning an online payday advance that I have no knowledge of. I've had "no luck" with getting anyone to answer at these numbers.
