SCAM Somebody claiming to be from DTE, offering to lower my gas bill with DTE even though I don't get gas through DTE. He had my phone number and address. He asked for my account number, said I can't call back since it's a one time offer.
Caller, with foreign accent, called stating he was from DTE and wanted to give me a discount. I told him I was busy. He was very persistent in wanting me to 'verify my information'. I just laughed and said no thank you. Have blocked the number
Just took this call. A woman with very heavy Indian accent, claiming to be from DTE -- though I had to make her repeat that because her accent is SOOO strong. After she rattled something about a discount and wanted to verify my info, I made her repeat the offer 2 more times, and still couldn't not clearly understand her. I apologized for my inability and asked her to put someone else on the line who could speak English clearly. She hung up. Think I ticked her off!?!?!?!?
Called yesterday and today. No message. Have had calls from another number about lowering gas bill, I guess they're all over the place, based on this thread.
