repeated calls from 313-456-9317 with no one on the line. no one ever answers. i am on a do not call list and still get these annoying calls. what to do??
Comes up Renewal Ministries on caller id. I have told them repeatedly to stop calling and they won't stop. Just did a reverse search on the number and they are Level 3 Communications a telemarketing group. I have also been getting calls for Breast Cancer S and it is the same Level 3 Communications group for that "charity". They only give a tiny fraction of the donation to the charity. Telemarketing groups are FOR-PROFIT groups so it strikes me that they should not be allowed to call people on the do-not-call list claiming to be a charity or a non-profit organization if they keep 95% of the "donation". My "guess" is that the telemarketing corporation "donates" part of their profits to charities and then claims it as a donation on their tax reporting and get a tax advantage. I think it is only 2 or 3 telemarketing groups that pose as many different charities. We all need to stop making donations via phone. If you want to donate to an organization go online and get their actual address and phone. We keep these scammers in business by donating over the phone (and no phone pledges either) and they make tons of money sitting on their butts harassing us in our homes.
