I have been getting calls from (313) 576-4151 for a couple of weeks. No messages. The calls are at all hours. I received a call Sunday night at 9:01 p.m., and again today. If this is the Red Cross, this is an annoying way to generate blood donations. I feel like a jerk complaining about the Red Cross; if they texted or emailed, I wouldn't mind the contact so much. I deleted my phone number from my profile there; we'll see if the calls stop. I imagine that I am now in their marketing system and will get these calls forever. Annoying!
I called this number back and a recorded message identified the number as Red Cross. I've proudly donated blood for yeas but my last donation was so painful that I doubt I'll donate again. FYI, I did report the incident and received a follow up call. The Red Cross determination was that a nerve got poked, which caused all of the pain. I suspect that the iodine solution was not allowed to dry and a very small amount stuck to the needle as it pierced my vein. In either case, I have no assurance I will not experience that pain again. The pain was severe during the remaining day of the donation and a lesser intermittent pain persisted for days. Also, a web search appears to indicate that the Red Cross does not pay for medical expenses related to an injury I might have suffered during a donation. I did not have to seek medical attention but others have posted complaint regarding the absence or lack of compensation by the Red Cross. Oh well...
Red Cross for sure... I've been getting multiple calls a week from 2 different numbers this one and the other ending in 4127. Just like everyone else has said... I don't need to be hounded from a debt collector to give blood.
