If you know the name and address of the collection agency or can find it out then send them a cease and desist letter telling them not to contact you again by certified mail return receipt requested which will cost you between 6 and 7 dollars at the post office.
If they have talked to you then they should have sent you within 5 days of your first conversation a letter explaining who they are, who the debt belongs to as well as the amount, and a short summary of your right to dispute the debt within 30 days of the letter. If you did receive this letter then you should have sent them a dispute letter again certified mail and they would have to cease communicating with you until the validation is sent.
If they have not done this, then they are in violation of the FDCPA and you can now file a lawsuit against them
This scam debt collection agency calls regularly about a disagreement with a bank I've never done business with and even though I've requested they remove my name from their files they are still calling. Although I've stopped answereing their calls they still regularly ring my number. Can't something be done about this?

This company has people working for it that can hardly speak english.The communication was no clear enough to understand.They did not say what this was about but I received two calls on 10/12/2015 and another at 09:48 AM I am going to file a harassment complaint against this company to see if this will stop them.
