This is number BOA and is not a scam per se, but is illegal. They can not call employers and can't call neighbors and are not allowed to make threats. My husband and I are separated and in the middle of a dispute over an account with them. Our attorneys have been in contact with them and are working with someone who was supposed to be representing them. They called our employers, our previous employers and parents (we are 50+!!). They called me using a michigan number and informed me they did not have to work with my lawyer and would take my house and my business and that they would also tell my husband about the problems which would cause me problems with the divorce. All illegal. We are on the verge of filing with the state attorney general (who doesn't like BOA) and with the Federal Trade Commission. Don't let them intimidate you if you are involved in a dispute with them. Remember, the people who are calling are people who get paid a percentage of whatever they can talk you into paying, so of course they get angry if you won't go along! It costs them money. They don't really care at all about BOA, just them selves. If you owe BOA money, you have an obligation to deal with it, but that doesn't mean you have an obligation to speak with anyone that calls you.
