When I did not immediately pick up the phone, I promptly received a repeat call from this number. The caller identified herself as "Lisa, from the Rewards Redemption Center." She addressed me by name and said I had two $100 rewards-gift cards, then asked for a credit card number. She did not explain either why I would have these rewards or gift cards, nor why she would need a credit card number, rather than a mailing address, to provide them to me.
I got the one ring only call from this # also on my cell. Haven't gotten the second one with the rewards scam phishing for people's credit card numbers yet. I have noticed this seems to be a new technique for some robocallers: multiple one or two ring calls in a row. That way the people who are screening calls - as we all are these days - might be more inclined to pick it up thinking that somebody that insistent might be a legit caller with a telephone problem, perhaps? Who knows, but you'd think a scam as audaciously obvious as saying they need *our* credit card numbers in order to give us *our* 'rewards' wouldn't go very far either, but it must work with some of us out here.
