I got a call from this number (314-480-3900). I did not answer it, it is out of state, therefore not my local market, AND it came up on 800notes.com. I did a google search while the phone was still ringing. Anyhow after reading through many of the other comments, I would like to add that I recently started using Go Daddy's SEO marketing within the past week.
I just got off the phone with a YP rep. after 30 minutes of listening to his sales pitch. He stated that Yellow Pages have been in business for over 100 years and when I asked if he worked for Yellow Pages he replied that he did. He took me to a website for a demo and his sales tactics kept getting more and more aggressive. At one point he said he could talk to his manager about skipping a two month's down payment and the took a deep breath and basically said he just talked to his manager....lol...and could waive the two month's down payment if I authorized an auto-pay monthly plan. They wanted $1600 per month to get my business listing in the first page nationwide and could "guarantee" me that I would get enough customers a month to pay for my advertising plus make a lot of money. I told him I had to talk to my husband for that much money and he asked if he could talk to my husband. When I told him my husband was not available he asked me for my husband's phone number. I told him I didn't see a reason for the urgency because of the company has been around for 100 years, they would still be there in 6 months. He stated that if I didn't sign up right now.....I would lose the spot. I questioned him about just how many people can he sell that coveted spot to and he just kept rattling on about how much money I was going to make, how it would blow out of the water etc. I finally said that he was not listening to me, that I was not feeling comfortable with the pressure and thanked him for his time - have a good day and I hung up. Then, I blocked the phone number.
This person called me and when I called back they did not answer and then they sent me a message at night saying he was in a meeting that they were selling a house
Yes, YP, but they only advertise for you on YP.com. I placed an ad with them for one year. Incredibly expensive for my small business. They used to be the old AT&T Yellow Pages, but they are now split off as just an online yellow pages directory. If you search on Google for businesses, now and again, you'll end up on a YP advert for a related business. However, for my $89/month, i received one call in 12 months, which was simply a query. for my $1000, i got bupkiss. They are a legitimate business, but only barely. For one-tenth the price, you can set up your own web site, add a few search terms, and without even doing any Google ad-words, you'll generate probably 60 calls a year. They are a complete waste of your money. Despite my very unhappy experience with them, which i've explained in detail to at least three of their reps, they sent me some literature last week and tried to call me again today. I'm not sure if i was already on a call or if i've added them to my blocked callers list already, but i would definitely recommend you never bother speaking with them!
