called me on my work phone, missed it because I was on another line - they left a message and when i went to retreive it it was only half a message so i called the # back, got press one for english so I did then it tells me to enter my card # - what card ? could not get past that message just hung up
2nd call from this outfit. 1st number came on caller id as 000000000. 2nd time as 314-558-6851. Out of Holcomb, mo.. Very hard to understand. I played with him for about 10 minutes to waste his time. Said he was from Microsoft and told me I was infected with the Hemphill virus and wanted me to get on my computer. I ask him where he was calling from and he said Washington, Microsoft HQ. I said ok as I watched tv and pretended to be at my computer. I believe this was going to lead to fraud or to get private info. for mor fraud.
I was on the phone with a person at the number for AVG Customer Service that I found by googling it and I let the guy get on my computer remotely (I'm scared too death now) and told me I had a trojahn horse virus and needed $284.99 to have a technician repair it and for Norton 360 virus protection. The charge wouldn't go through my card (the bank rejected it) but it left me uneasy. The guy wanted another card number and I refused. Then I called my bank to deactivate that card and to my horror I also got a call from this outfit. The time was 2:15AM so it had to be related to this transaction. Can anyone advise me what to do?
i had a missee call from this number. when i tried to call it back to see what it was, i get an operator who says please press one for english. it was listed as unnamed. then an operator says to enter your card number.
I too have received numerous calls from these people throughout 2012, and have gotten one today in January 2013. I may have gotten at least one more this January. I don't know who it is, but I'm getting really sick of these calls.
