I received a phone call from 314-575-6954 claiming to be a Windows tech. He wanted me in front of my computer. He began telling me to show him all the files I had downloaded. . I ask him for a number to call him back on. He kept talking and wouldn't give me a number and hung up. Like Gordon, when I called the number back, it was invalid. I hate these people who prey on others for a living.
Walked in the door and my phone was ringing, but it stopped before I could answer it. Caller ID showed this number and "CATHOLIC CEMETA". I took care of a couple of things, then checked my messages - nothing. I hit the "redial" and got an "Out of Service" message. I find it difficult to believe that this was any sort of a legitimate call.
First words were about being from "Windows Tech" and something about my computer. At this point I knew it was bogus as this is my company cell phone and I would never receive all call from IT like this so I hung up. I imagine this is some sort of scam to get your personal information.
Ransacking your computer is more their intent while bilking you out of funds for unnecessary services. It's at least a two for one deal for bogus tech support callers.
