thx for these postings.  I just ran into the same Tiffaney Turner scam, asking me to look for the UPS check, pay extra $70 for me and return $70 to Damaris Pacheco @ 15 westcourt Drive, Cleburne, TX 76033.  of course it is not a valid address.  the fact that pay extra to me and ask me to send the money over Western Union to a shipper in a different address instantly makes it a scam as items sold are for local use. thx. btw, the phone # used is 1-860-385-1687.

These posts are worrying me because I'm dealing with a buyer named "Alvina" who actually sent me a cashier's check for the cost of the items I listed on C.L. plus a huge amount for shipping costs. She also provided the same Texas address to send the shipping costs to. She texted me to deduct the cost of my items and send the balance to her shipper. I have deposited the check and I'm waiting for it to clear. How can this person be scamming me if I have the money in my account? Maybe I'm not aware of scammer capabilities but I would like someone to educate me on this.

The check is worthless.  Do not send anyone any money.   Do not withdraw any money based on the check.  If you do,  you will be held liable for the bank's loss.  The scammers are hoping you'll immediately send them the so-called "shipping" costs.  This is a common Craig's list type scam. Contact the bank immediately.  Notify them of the fraud.

Again, this is most likely a fraud.  Don't send anyone any money.
