This number, 314-601-3275, just called me about 4:15 today. I have relatives there, so I answered. Not them. It was obviously a multi call operation going on. A person started talking after I said "Hello", silence, "Is anybody there?"........... "Hello I'm Joel Collins from American Veteran's Support Foundation....." That's where I cut him off and said "Forget it, pal."
I never heard of this bunch. Maybe they are legit, maybe not, but there is an awful lot of bogus calling coming out of the St. Louis area.
I tried looking them up and can't find a web site for them, and one post that says that they contribute only 14% of their take to the charity. The rest is "operating expenses". Sounds pretty bogus to me. If I'm wrong, sorry. I have a nephew in the Army (4 tours in the world's largest kitty litter box), my father was in the Navy, My sister was also in the army. I support vets, but only through legitimate agencies.
800Notes: You need more choices for call type. I'd call this a for-profit fake charity. I'd say telemarketer was as close as I can come.
