Sister firm Corporations for Character (C4C) is classified as a commercial fundraiser and has been known to pocket about two of every three dollars collected. This level of greedy overhead is fairly typical of the worst such fundraising firms.
Almost two years ago, C4C, FFFF, and another Utah firm, all sharing the same ownership, were sued by the FTC for consumer abuse and deceptive practices while bending the edges of the DNC registry and the Telemarketing Sales Rule. In a galling display of entitlement, C4C countersued, crying between the lines about how the Feds were disrupting its faulty business model.
For those just tuning in, defendant "Feature Films for Families" has appeared numerous times on these mystery call sites. Its profile appears to be pushy video sales and self-appointed censorship behind the veil of conducting surveys and rating video programming. This is the outfit that releases chopped and diced versions of movies and shows according to its own narrow standards of ''decency''.
I get calls from this number everyday, or from other phone numbers that are also associated with "Feature Films." I've never done any business with them, so I'm not sure how my cell phone leaked to them. Any calls from their numbers are now transferred to a 'no longer in service' message. Maybe if they think my phone number is a dead end, they'll stop calling. I wonder if automated calls will register that my cell phone number seems disconnected...
