Just called me at work despite the fact that I am unable to receive calls at that number and per law they may not call me. Claimed to be AT&T making a "test call". Unscrupulous collector.
I answer the call on my cell phone...
Female Voice: "This is a test call from AT&T. Is this number to be associated with CompanyX?"
[I use to have AT&T with this number for decades (well, starting with CellularOne back in the 90s) until a few years ago and use to have a CompanyX discount with it, but CompanyX never owned my number.]
Me: "I'm an employee of CompanyX." (That's public knowledge anyway.)
Female Voice: "Thank you."
A few minutes later "No Caller ID" rang a couple of times and then stopped before I could answer it (even if I would).
Received a call from this #. When I answered he said he was doin a test call. I asked him who he was tying to get a hold of he said a utility com. If this was a test call then he should know where hes calling. I told him I looked this # up and it was a scam he said have a nice day and hung up. When I called this # back recording says its not a working #.
This is, in fact, a test number from AT&T. My company was having difficulties with one of our lines and this is the number the AT&T technician called me from to troubleshoot the issue.
