REALLY?????
The phone # 1st shows up unavailable but when you talk to 1 of the MORONS long enough they will give up a phone # of 314-720-6831. The USUAL India accent, claiming that there are 1,700 people that have been selected to receive  $9,700 grant from OUR (USA) Federal Government and that THEY work for our Federal Government to disburse these funds. I played their STUPID little game for a bit I wasn't doing anything else at the time. They said the money had to be sent Western Union....HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!I was just waiting for the amount that I had to send to THEM to get my "grant" money, I was told 2 different amounts by 2 different MORONS, 1 who was SUPPOSE to be the head supervisor. $350.00 by the 1st CREEP and then $225.00 by the other piece of VERMIN!!!! The supervisor KEPT repeating to me what was an OLD E-Mail address and an OLD address where I had lived QUITE some time ago. Bottom line....it's a SCAM, they are likely using automated dialer to call and the rest of the information that they "think" they have on you is OLD and outdated......THESE PEOPLE ARE SO VERY STUPID HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!! Even claimed....they could have a check Fed Exed to me in 45 minutes HAAAAAHAAAAAHAAAA!!!!!! Ya know.........when you "think" that these IDIOTS CAN'T possibly be a MORE STUPID.......you find out they ARE!!!!!

My experience was just like "Really?"s was. I was dumb enough to go to the money gram place then back out when I was warned it was a scam. The man on the phone got mad when I told him it sounded like a scam. I cussed the POS out and hung up. He called back 3 times!!!!

I also received an unavailable call. Man with an Indian accent claiming to be Jordan stated he was with the US Federal Government and that I had been selected to receive a grant for $9,700. I informed him that I had not applied for a grant and he stated that I was selected based on a demographic survey in my area. I let "Jordan" go on and he said all I have to do is set up a Western Union account for $275 and I could get my grant money the next day. I was to call (314) 720-6831 to get the PIN to access the $9,700. I did not call for obvious reasons. If the government wanted to give me money they would send something in the mail and mail me a check. The slowest method possible.

It is a scam.
The government does not offer grants to individuals for personal use.
It is a scam ran by off shore con artists to trick you into sending unrecoverable money to them.
They will say you need to get prepaid money cards, like Green Dot and load them with you own money or to wire transfer funds via companies like Western Union. Once you give the details from the card to the scammer, they clean out the card. Once you wire transfer money, you can not recover it.
You loose your money, you get nothing.

The only legitimate avenue for government grants is through www.grants.gov which is the official US government web site for grants.
From their FAQ concerning fraud:
http://www.grants.gov/web/grants/support/general-support/grant-fraud.html

Please note the following:

No government grant-making agency will make phone calls; send email or letters to solicit money or personal banking information from a potential grant recipient.
There are no processing fees for federal grants.
Federal grants are not issued for personal use, but are intended for institutions and non-profits to carry out projects with a public purpose.
Know who you're dealing with on the web.  Scam artists will often post a website with a name similar to a legitimate site.
If you have provided personal banking information to anyone claiming to be associated with a Federal grant agency, call your bank immediately to prevent unauthorized access to your account.

If you receive a call, mail, email, FAX, or any other form of communication soliciting you for a grant, STOP.
It is a scam.
Report it to the FTC:
http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0113-government-grant-scams

File a complaint with the FTC. If you think you may have been a victim of a government grant scam, file a complaint with the FTC online https://ftccomplaintassistant.gov/ , or call toll-free, 1-877-FTC-HELP (1-877-382-4357); TTY: 1-866-653-4261.
