My mom got a call saying he was working with the US Government to be able to provide cheaper health care to the Elderly, he knew her address and her other info but needed to know her banking information. She told him she would have to check with someone at the bank and he could call her back in 15 minutes. She did not give out any information to him and did the right thing of calling me at the bank.
NEVER give out your banking information. Never give out any of your personal information.
Well the guy did in fact call her back, said his name was Nick Johnson This time it was INTL. Number on the caller ID and 636-435-3021 was on the Caller ID. She said that he would need to call her bank and ask for her account Representative (me) and he said he would not be able to do that and that he was going to make it so her card for medical was pulled with the state. HAHAHAHA... What a joke.
THE FIRST CALL WAS A WOMEN, COULDNOT UNDERSTAND HER HUNG UP. SECOND CALL A MAN SAID I HAD $3000.00 IN CREDIT CARD AND MEDICAL BILLS. HE KNEW MY LAST NAME AND PHONE NO. I HUNG UP. DO NOT TALK TO THEM, HANG UP AND TRY TO BLOCK THEM.

There are many collection scams out there - they call many times a day but do not leave voicemail. They might threaten collection and hope you pay a bogus bill. They may even ask for your bank account info. SCAMS - often pray on the elderly. Be careful.
