A man called and said he was from Microsoft and he needed to fix my computer. I had several reports that my computer was sending to Microsoft. Bull - He also said I had malware and when I told him I had a program to detect Malware he didn't know what to say - he finally hung up on me.
This person called claiming to be a Microsoft rep. And telling me i had hackers. Wanted me to go to my computer and have him help. Been here before...dont do it
I got this same call this morning. Some guy with a very thick accent claimed to be calling from Windows and wanted me to
turn on my computer so he could help me fix some bug. I asked him where he was calling from and he said "Microsoft" and when I asked location he said NYC. It's actually Missouri. I played along with him for a minute, then said I couldn't understand him and hung up. He called me back - TWICE! I finally told him to leave me alone and not to call back.
This # shows on my caller ID twice a day at different times. Name shows as Saml Greaves. I have not answered it. If they say your Windows computer has a problem, tell them you have a Mac and it's fine!
Got 4 phone calls this morning 2 unknown and 2 from the 314 822 2788 number/greaves saml. I have gotten them before and again the caller with thick Indian (mid-eastern) accent told me that he was with Microsoft and that I was getting a lot of errors on my computer. I told him "no I wasn't and don't call me again." Blocked the call after that.
