They are attempting to collect on a debt that has already been paid off. The account was from 1998 but they still think they are going to extort money for it.
If you get a call or papers from them a written demand for proof that you owe and that the statute of limitations has not run out. also demand in writing that they cease all contact until they provide the proof. send it certified mail with return receipt so they cant deny getting it. then if they call again hire a consumer rights attorney and sue the piss out of them
these people are zombie debt collections for a company of LV&V out of Las Vegas NV. they will not respond to requests for discovery and will file court papers. Show up for court if you are served AND have a trial set. If a judge orders them to show discovery and they dont, they default. Be sure to ask the judge to dismiss with predjudice against the company so they cannot refile.

leaves no message, nor any answer when you pick up. every couple evenings. I called them back and asked to be removed from their list. they asked me if a particular person lived at this number. I think they looked up our number from our address, trying to get hold of the person who lived here before. They werent apologetic, didn't explain the reason for being on this list, nor were they particularly friendly.
