It's a call from a university and universities do not phish ("fish", really?) for information. They are alumni who call for donations from other alumni. They are very polite and are doing their part to help give back, probably having received some sort of financial aide themselves for their education. Clearly your number was dialed by mistake. Get your facts straight before posting such a ridiculous statement next time.
So your saying scammers DON'T spoof legit numbers like from a UNIVERSITY, call people and phish for info? You are either with this people or incredibly naive and they do INDEED do such actions! Must be nice living in a bubble where that kind of thing never happens!
