I got a phone call from this number and the telephone number 323-204-9864 on 8/6 within a couple of hours of each other. The lady said she was calling from Community Reading Club and that I was entered in a sweepstakes for over $20,000 and the drawing would be held on May 30, 2010. I asked her what company she was calling from and she said the "Community Reading Club of Southern California". I asked her who had entered me in this sweepstakes and she responded with my bank or a credit card! I couldn't believe what I was hearing! I happened to be online at the time of this call so I googled the name of the company she had told me earlier. She went on with her fraudulent script and advised me that since I had been entered in the 'sweepstakes' I would be receiving a diamond watch. Did I want a woman's or men's watch? She then verified my mailing address and asked me my age. She continued with her ridiculous script with by saying since I answered the questions I would be recieving for free four magazines: Lady's Home Journal, Cosmo and two other magazines and I would also be receiving two weekly magazines at a cost of a little over $4. I asked her for a call back number and she assured me that her manager would be calling me right back. Her tone of voice change and she sounded a little nervous. I asked her just how will I pay for these weekly magazines? she said her manager would be calling be back. So I told her want if I don't want the weekly magazines, she said that I would not get the free ones, by this time I had open a web site called ripoff reports and "community reading club' was the first entry as a fraudulent and scamming operation. Please someone investigate this company. The call left me feeling violated. I was quite upset and along with an uneasy feeling that I was unable to attend my evening classes.
